Fellowship Application Information & Requirements

Candidates considering a career in academic dermatology are strongly encouraged to apply. UC San Diego emphasizes multidisciplinary approach which is essential to the success of a Mohs surgeon in an academic environment. With the vision of training academic Mohs surgeons in mind, in addition to the ACGME and ACMS fellowship curriculum requirements, the fellow will be expected to initiate and complete a research project to be submitted for publication and presentation at a national meeting. The fellow will also be expected to be a role model to residents and instruct them in procedural dermatology during the fellowship.

Important Dates & Deadlines

Application registration opens according to SFMatch schedule. Completed applications will be accepted only in this format and are due no later than August 01, 2024.

*Please note, the Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship Program’s start date will be August 1st annually. Please contact ucsdderm@health.ucsd.edu with any questions.

Per institution policy, there will be no visiting rotations and no in-person interviews this academic year.

Requirements

This program requires all applicants to be a graduate of a US ACGME-accredited dermatology residency program or an RCPSC-accredited or CFPC-accredited dermatology residency program in Canada.
