Recruiting Postdoctoral Fellows
The University of California San Diego Department of Dermatology has multiple openings for postdoctoral scholars and is actively recruiting motivated candidates to join our collaborative research environment. Our six NIH-funded research faculty share an open laboratory space that promotes team science among >50 postdoctoral scholars, physicians, graduate students, undergraduates, and staff. Our recent publications highlight the breadth of our research:
- Microbiology and Translational Research (Gallo Lab): Development of a human skin commensal microbe for bacteriotherapy of atopic dermatitis and use in a phase 1 randomized clinical trial. Nature Medicine (2021). doi: 10.1038/s41591-021-01256-2
- Immunology (Di Nardo Lab): Mast cell recruitment is modulated by the hairless skin microbiome. J Allergy and Clinical Immunology (2019). doi: 10.1016/j.jaci.2019.02.033
- Genetics (Sen Lab): SPT6 promotes epidermal differentiation and blockade of an intestinal-like phenotype through control of transcriptional elongation. Nature Communications (2021). doi: 10.1038/s41467-021-21067-w.
- Genomics (Sun Lab): A genome-wide long noncoding RNA CRISPRi screen identifies PRANCR as a novel regulator of epidermal homeostasis. Genome Research (2020). doi: 10.1101/gr.251561.119.
- Cancer Biology (Hangauer Lab): Drug-tolerant persister cancer cells are vulnerable to GPX4 inhibition. Nature (2017). doi: 10.1038/nature24297.
- Wound Healing (Dorschner Lab): ECRG4 regulates neutrophil recruitment and CD44 expression during the inflammatory response to injury. Science Advances (2020). doi: 10.1126/sciadv.aay0518.
UC San Diego is considered among the top 20 best universities in the world (Academic Ranking of World Universities), 6th in the United States for research output (Nature Index) and has the #1 doctoral program in both Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (National Research Council). We enjoy unbeatable sunny weather and the diverse cultural, sporting, and outdoor activities that California has to offer.
